Ultra, by Themify.me, is a true premium WordPress theme and I’ve included it in this list of grid themes because of the demo site they’ve created with a gorgeous masonry layout, pictured above. Ultra allows for a massive amount of flexibility. A lot of themes advertise their flexibility, but they really don’t provide it, or they’re flexible, but difficult to use. Ultra is different, it’s simple to use and offers drag and drop page building that makes it effortless to create a layout like the one you see in this post. The layouts are limitless with over 60 included in your download package and more being created all the time. Ultra is eCommerce friendly, great for portfolios and blogs that want to add some eCommerce to their site. Ultra also includes bonus Themeify Builder addons, including a Timeline, Progress Bars, Countdown, Professional contact form and much more. If you want a full featured theme with a beautiful grid layout included, you should take a deeper look into Ultra.

It’s easy to navigate, because Collecto is so visual, your readers will simply click on the gorgeous images they see, the alluring headlines and they’ll be on to the next topic that interests them. It really does look a bit like a newspaper and I really love the typography that’s included in the vanilla demo. Single pages are just as attractive, with bold, minimal style that accentuates your content, not the site’s design. The result is a site that’s very easily navigated and that looks great on all devices, thanks to pure responsive design. Collecto should absolutely be considered for any site that wants a wonderful looking, dynamic grid based layout.

Here’s a theme from themify.me and it’s called Peak. What a fantastic layout for a portfolio, it’s bold and grid shaped, perfect for all size of images. The masonry style makes any amount of images look great, so you won’t have to go through and resize all your images to be the same. That can be tedious. No matter what screen size your visitors use, those magical grid layouts will adjust to look great for all screen sizes. The layout automatically populates too, so you won’t have to go through and tweak things every time you add another image to the site. However, what if you want to create a masonry grid with custom sizes? That’s easily done with Peak. Mega Menus, a bunch of post layouts and more make Peak an awesome all-around WordPress theme for any sort of portfolio.

Gridlove is one of my favorite magazine themes that offers a great looking masonry blog layout. It’s creative, it’s well designed and best of all, it’s focused on what matters: your content. There are hundreds of possible layouts that are premade, but there’s no reason you can’t tweak those layouts to create something entirely new. You’re also given that kind of flexibility on the page level too, so there’s no reason each post or page can’t have a unique layout. All possible through the power of drag and drop. Pretty cool. You can highlight posts, accenting any type of content you choose, there are multiple headers, customizable single post layouts, infinite fonts and color possibilities and much more.
